Work begins on a luxury spa at the Breedon Priory Health Club on the Leicestershire / Derbyshire border

Work has started on a luxury spa at a health club on the Leicestershire / Derbyshire border.

The new Breedon Priory Health Club facility will include treatment rooms, relaxation areas, swimming pools, saunas and steam rooms, as well as a restaurant and boutique.

The ‘upscale spa’ is built in the existing footprint of a golf club building, located on the edge of Wilson village – between Melbourne and Breedon on the Hill.

The building permit was approved in March 2018 and the work includes the demolition of the old club house and another building to make way for the new boutique spa. The work is currently underway and should be completed this summer.

This will be followed by the replacement of another property by six lodges, which will be built in wood and located on the fairway of the old 18th green.

Derby-based project managers and construction cost consultant Armsons and YMD Boon Architects lead a team behind the plans, which includes other structural engineers from Derby Jackson Purdue Lever, mechanical and electrical engineers from Birmingham HBA and landscape architects Ashby Lush Garden Design who created the design of the exterior spaces.
