SAN ANTONIO – You can bet Lonnie Walker IV will be in great shape ahead of the start of the San Antonio Spurs 2021-22 regular season.
The Spurs guard is at the California Sports Academy for intense physical exercise, and he’s not alone. He teamed up with the Lakers’ Dwight Howard in a grueling workout, which saw them swing a weighted log and run sprints through thick sand.
This isn’t the first time Walker has joined another NBA player for off-season training. Last season he joined Jrue Holiday at Sports Academy for work.
“To be able to be around him [Holiday], and see what I can improve as a player, in terms of strength and conditioning – that’s something I needed, âWalker said ahead of the start of the 2020-21 season.
He’s already an athletic beast, but Walker’s hard work and dedication to maintaining peak fitness should help him enter his fourth NBA season.
Last season, he recorded a career-high 11.2 points per game along with 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
And with his intense workouts, his lean shoulders will definitely help him carry more load on the pitch next season.
