Rise Up! Get in shape! shares fitness tips for seniors

In keeping with its mandate, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) encourages people of all ages to be active, get fit and have fun through sports and other physical activities. After the previous kid-focused episode, PSC’s web series Rise Up! Get in shape! dedicates its June 18 episode to seniors and seniors to help them adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.

Featured in the episode are four-time Filipino World Champion Bowler Bong Coo and Philippine Gymnastics Association President Cynthia Carrion. The two will share tips for aging gracefully, staying fit and living a healthy lifestyle.

UP Diliman Associate Professor Dr. Maria Luisa Guinto will also discuss the psychological aspects of aging, while Dr. Florosita Reyes, geriatrician at Santiago City Adventist Hospital, will share health care tips. for old people.

Celia H. Kiram, PSC Women in Sport Watch Commissioner, stresses the importance of a healthy and fit lifestyle, especially as you age. “As we age, our bodies change. But we can help our bodies age through exercise and healthy eating.

She adds that seniors should also look out for their general well-being and consider mental and emotional well-being.

The uprising ! Get in shape! the episode will be hosted by Bam Mogato, a certified fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise. Mogato also joined the jury during the Zumbarangay Dance Challenge organized by the PSC-Women in Sports last year.
