Norton Healthcare Named Official Healthcare Provider of the Louisville Cardinals

The largest healthcare provider and the region’s university are teaming up to provide comprehensive medical care for varsity athletes. Today, Norton Healthcare and the University of Louisville announced that Norton Healthcare has been named the Official Healthcare Provider of the Louisville Cardinals.

As part of the deal, Norton Sports Health will provide medical support for all of the university’s 23 athletic programs. This support includes the completion of all sports physical exams and access to Norton Healthcare’s network of sports physicians, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists and primary care providers.

In addition to offering its team of healthcare providers, Norton Sports Health will also provide funding for fringe sports coaches, on-campus training rooms and state-of-the-art imaging equipment.

“It’s a big day for University of Louisville athletics,” said Vince Tyra, UofL athletic director. “The health and well-being of our players is our top priority. We are thrilled to team up with Norton Healthcare, an organization that has proven to offer the same level of passion, drive and expertise as our athletes.

Care will extend beyond the physical, as Norton Sports Health will also offer mental health services, including access to counseling and sports performance specialists.

Hester, MD, MBA, Division President, Supplier Operations and System Medical Director, Norton Healthcare. “With our streamlined and comprehensive group of medical providers, we have the ability to deliver the services athletes need both quickly and efficiently. “

To support the process, all UofL athletes will have access to the MyNortonChart and Norton eCare tours. Norton eCare allows patients with elective conditions to have 24/7 access to speak to a nurse practitioner via a computer or mobile device or to take an eVisit, which involves completing an online questionnaire. and receiving a telephone call from the practitioner.
