If you are going to play a boxing champion then you obviously need to be in good shape. This is exactly what Michael B Jordan is doing for Creed 3, as the trio prepare to start filming. While the latest installment in the Rocky franchise will also see Jordan sitting in the director’s chair, he is already training for his next outing as Adonis Creed, as evidenced by his raised arms.
Michael B. Jordan has more on his plate for Creed 3 compared to 2015 Creed and 2018 Creed II, but he is careful not to skimp on the physical activity necessary to bring Adonis Creed back to life. Check out the Corey Calliet video trainer shared on Instagram of Jordan performing his exercise program during Creed 3.
Dude, those biceps work out! With one year before Creed 3, Michael B. Jordan balances his time as a director with making sure he’s in good physical shape before main shoot begins. There’s no doubt that Jordan does a lot of other exercises, but the video above showed us how much effort he puts into building those well-toned arms. Hopefully, we’ll get more glimpses of Jordan’s exercise regimen in the coming weeks.
The debut of Michael B. Jordan’s Rocky franchise in Creed reunited it with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler (the two collaborated again on Black Panther). For Creed II, Steven Caple Jr. inherited the helm reins from Coogler, but for Creed 3, Jordan decided to take on this task himself. As the actor said in July, he’s always wanted to achieve something he had a “strong opinion and perspective on”, and between knowing this “world” so well and his passion for collaboration, Creed 3 felt it was the right time for him to make his directorial debut. He’s working on a screenplay written by Zach Baylin and Keenan Coogler, based on a story designed by Ryan Coogler.
No specific Creed 3 plot details have yet to be revealed, but Michael B. Jordan will be joined on camera by Lovecraft Country and Loki star Jonathan Majors, with his character who would be described as Adonis Creed’s “arch enemy”. The majors said earlier this month that Jordan was trying to do something “a little more intimate” with Creed 3, and the story is “about these two men trying to find a solution”. Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad will also return as Bianca and Mary Anne Creed, respectively, but Sylvester Stallone will not be reprising Rocky Balboa.
Creed 3 opens in theaters on November 23, 2022. Pending further updates on its progress, be sure to browse our 2022 release schedule to find out what other films will arrive next year.
