Methodology: Each year, the IHRSA conducts an annual survey of health club consumers as part of the Physical Activity Council (PAC). The PAC is made up of six leading sports associations and manufacturers who are dedicated to increasing participation in their respective sports and activities. In 2018, a total of 20,069 online interviews were conducted with a national sample of individuals and households from the US online panel of over 1 million people operated by IPSOS. The total panel is maintained to be representative of the US population for those six years of age and older.
