Hollywood Health Club opens at Hewlett

A new Hollywood Health Club has opened at Hewlett.

The 16,000-square-foot fitness center is located at 1255 Hewlett Plaza, where owners Steve Diamond, Nevin Diamond and Paul Martin hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.

The location, which was once occupied by Retro Fitness, is undergoing a major renovation, with new equipment, private fitness rooms, and changing rooms with steam showers and private saunas. The Hollywood Health Club will also offer private, female-only workout classes.

The Hewlett Fitness Center is the second Hollywood Health Club to open this year. In March, the three owners opened an 18,000 square foot location at 265 Park Ave. in Long Beach at the site of the original business which opened in 1986 as Hollywood Health Spa and sold to the New York Sports Club in the early 2000s.

“We’re taking what we’ve learned during the pandemic and focusing on giving people everything they want in a fitness club experience,” said Steve Diamond, owner of the first Hollywood Health Spa in Long. Beach, in a written statement. “This location will be one of the most advanced in terms of technology and fitness equipment. We also take the same health and safety precautions when we opened our Long Beach location. The health and well-being of our members is our number one concern.
