INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis health care provider will begin offering COVID-19 testing to passengers and employees at Indianapolis International Airport starting Thursday.
JFI Medical will offer the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test for $ 135, and results will be provided within 24 hours. The company will also offer the rapid antigen test for $ 95, with results delivered within an hour. Both tests can be taken for $ 200. Insurance will be accepted. The test site will be open from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, or as required by the airline. The test site will be in the baggage claim area of ââthe airport terminal. Pre-registration is required.
Jacob Howson recently traveled to Los Angeles from IND and picked up his fiance on his trip on Wednesday. âHaving it here at the airport⦠would make testing a lot easier and make sure you’re comfortable with where you are. “
The tests come as thousands of travelers are expected at the airport for the NCAA Indiana-wide men’s basketball tournament and other Indianapolis basketball conference tournaments.
“Travelers are encouraged to plan their meeting time accordingly to meet their travel needs and any documentation requirements of their connecting points and destination,” said a press release issued on Wednesday by the airport.
The statement also said that the testing service is not part of the federal Transportation Safety Administration’s security screening and that travelers are not required to be tested by the airport. âIn January, the Centers for Disease Control issued an order requiring international travelers to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result or recovery documents within three days of their flight departing to the United States. United. Domestic travelers are not required to test negative at this time, âthe statement said.
