Young at Heart Club aims to improve the physical condition of the over 60s

One of Lancashire’s favorite health clubs is on a mission to get the over 60s active more, with a fun schedule of classes and workouts each week.

The Young at Heart 3-1-5- program is designed for people over 60 who are looking for a healthy lifestyle with like-minded people.

Sandie Halpin of 3-1-5 Health Club said, “We have a fun, active and sociable schedule that runs Monday through Friday. The goal is to help you prepare for the rest of your healthy life by getting you in the best shape, mind and body, and spirit for fun. No matter if you are a complete beginner, we have something for everyone.

And according to Sandie, being in shape in your 60s has major health benefits, including helping to strengthen bones, reduce the risk of osteoporosis, increase lung and heart efficiency, increase flexibility, help to lower blood pressure, maintain better mental health and, of course, offer friendship and the chance to get together socially.

She added: “On top of that we have a great chill out area to enjoy our hydrotherapy pool alongside our sauna and steam rooms. Make 3-1-5 your third community space or lounge and come join us to discover the facility and what our program has to offer. It is never too late to start a healthy lifestyle with us.
